2026 Rikugien Autumn Leaves: Special Evening Viewing
Save an evening for reflected light and autumn leaves, with a slow garden walk and a separate night ticket.
2026.11.25 — 12.06A different garden after daylight
Special opening gives access during normally closed nighttime hours, with lit autumn-leaf areas and projections on the storehouse and bamboo grove. The appeal is the garden’s nighttime layers, not a competition for the brightest light show.
At the water, put your phone away for a moment and watch the reflections. Take a favorite photo, then make space for the next person so everyone can enjoy it.
Day tickets do not cover evening entry
The garden closes at 17:00 and reopens at 18:00 for special evening viewing. A dedicated night ticket is required: advance ¥1,000, same-day ¥1,200. The on-site same-day counter accepts cash only, and each evening has a limited total allocation.
Leave breathing room in your evening
Allow 60–90 minutes. Entry closes at 19:30 and viewing ends at 20:30. Ticket-sale dates and links will follow official announcements. If your travel date is fixed, confirm ticket availability before arranging dinner and transport.
Autumn color depends on temperature; the event period does not mean peak foliage every day. The cover is an original autumn-night garden illustration, not a current-condition image.
Before you go
Night temperatures and footing differ; wear nonslip shoes and bring a warm layer. Follow current garden rules on camera equipment and movement.
Last entry is earlier than closing. Include time to reach the main gate and queue.
