2026 Shinjuku Fureai Festa

See a local Shinjuku weekend through community stalls, taiko drums and family activities in the park.

Shinjuku beyond department stores and neon

Organized by Shinjuku City and its festival committee, this local celebration includes community and friendship-city stalls, stage performances and sports experiences. It suits travelers curious about residents’ everyday life rather than a full day of shopping.

Pick one stage program, then browse nearby stalls. There’s no need to fill the day with every activity.

Family activities can have capacity limits

The official headdress-making activity is limited to 25 people per session, with numbered tickets from 10:30. Some other family activities also need tickets. These are not general admission tickets and do not guarantee a place just by arriving. Read the day’s guide for your chosen activity.

The Okubo area—not Shinjuku Chuo Park

The venues are Toyama Park’s Okubo area and Shinjuku Sports Center. Enter the full names in navigation rather than choosing another park. Allow 90–150 minutes and a separate budget for food and experiences.

Before you go

Rain does not automatically mean cancellation; check organizer notices before departure.

For limited activities, collect tickets first, then arrange nearby stops. Don’t force your way through crowds to catch a session.
